Halloween Pen Pal &a Craft Swap!

Hey guys!
I like to do this every year, and it's always a lot of fun and a way I have made a lot of long lasting friendships from people all over the world!
Basically, if you are interested we converse through email and decide if we are going to simply write to one another or do a gift swap. Then we agree on a number of handmade or small store bought gifts that we send each other ( just so the swap of fair, although I tend to send way more either way :)!), then we choose a date when we will have our packages sent in the mail by. The theme is obviously fall/Halloween, and you can send anything from Dollar Tree gifts, handmade gifts, paintings, letters, cards, whatever you want, and then be sure to share when you get your package.

Lights, Portal - Guitar Practice

I have been getting back into learning guitar, since my trip to Texas. This week I have been trying to play with strumming patterns, which is a lot harder than it seems (at least for me). The best way to describe singing and changing your strumming pattern, is like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time haha. 

This video is a Lights songs, from the album Little Machines, and it's one of my favorites! Maybe after tons of practice I'll get better but I don't think I did too bad. I learned these chords super fast in just a few minutes ( simply just G and Em chords) but trying to sing "well" and playing is still something I am not so great at :/

Gardening Log Week 1 and Week 2

I am a huge self taught garden enthusiast! I love caring for and watching plants grow, and especially produce veggies and herbs I can eat!

Last year my garden was a HUGE success, so I have been working on this years garden and I am already super happy with the outcome!

Rugrats Handmade Button Up Shirt

I made this shirt from a pattern I designed, and used an old Rugrats bed sheet I thrifted at Savers. After making the shirt I realized how cool it is that, this fabric (bed sheet) won't be made ever again. I used to love watching this show when I was little, so I am super excited I get to wear a shirt that reminds me of happy days when I was young. The colors are also super cool and bright. 

I am thinking about making another top, a skirt, or even maybe some small wrist wallets with the left over fabric. I know there are a ton of 90's kids out there like me that would be psyched to rock some Rugrats apparel!

JD Welding Decor

I'm super proud and inspired by my oldest brother Jordan for his new business en-devour!

Like me, he is a hands on worker and always stays busy learning new skills and working on projects that test his talent. Still a senior in high school, he has taught himself some of the most valuable of trades on his own. From auto mechanics, wood working, farming, gun building, welding, you name it.

He is just about to graduate and trying to get himself into welding school, that he is paying for himself. We all know how tough it can be to get through school and working full time, so he started his own Etsy shop to make a little extra money getting some more practice with welding by making cool hand crafted decor. I really want him to be able to complete school, something I was not able to do. He is passionate about the things he loves, hard working, and driven, which I find to be very rare in kids his age now a days. Take a look! Crompton Collective Vintage Wedding Week

I had a a great Sunday at Crompton Collective, for Vintage Wedding Week. I set up my American Gentleman Display for my upcoming wedding line. I had great feedback and lots of interest, so I cant wait to share whats new very soon! 

I really enjoyed seeing brides "to be" taking the time to check out each and every vendor's table, getting ideas and planning. It's kind of cool to think that I, along with the rest of the vendors participating today could potentially be "a part" of their big day. Something about that makes me feel really good inside :]

What I Made Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

For Christmas I got a ukulele, which I have been dying to own. For the past week now, I have been obsessed with learning how to play. It's been a great way to relieve stress, and helps me stay focused on one thing only, and clear my head, although I don't think my neighbors appreciate my late night practice session.
I have really grown to love this little instrument and like everything I own, I wanted to decorate it. Anytime I see a blank space I instantly think of what I could painting or stick on it, to make it pretty.
This past week I decided to paint one of my newer designs on the back of my ukulele, and it came out beautifully!

I also mustered up the courage to make a quick video to see what I sound like playing. I surprisingly picked up reading music again very quickly. This video is my first attempt at the song, so it kind of shows how fast I can pick up the chords and learn new songs. This was also another late late night practice session. I started playing around with new songs around 11:00pm and when I check the clock it was 1:30am, I guess time does really fly by when your having fun!

Stages of Large Canvas Painting

New Canvas Painting - I Only Have Eyes For You ...

This was a huge project for me, and the largest scale piece of art I have designed. I found a scrap canvas that had already been painted, and I snagged it before it was going to be tossed.

I based this painting off of a piece of art that I had saved a while back on Pinterest, and I made painted it in my own style of art.

I am a huge fan of pop art, bold lines and colors, not a ton of shading, white highlights, and of course glitter.

I wish I was able to capture the amount of glitter this painting has. The majority of the red " blood" has a thick layer of red glitter and it looks so cool.

Dream Journal

Lately I have been having extremely vivid dreams and I am a firm believer, that dreams have meaning to them. A few nights ago I had a dream that was very memorable, and when I awoke I remember nearly everything that the dream entailed. In this dream two specific animals, a buck and a black bear appeared a handful of times and I realized I needed to start keeping a dream journal.

I use to keep a dream journal years ago, and I have no clue where it is anymore, so since it is the new year I figured no better time to start a dream journal then now.

At any point in the past that I have had dreams that I can remember upon awakening, I always obsessively search online for the meaning of what I had seen in the dream. The crazy dreams I have been having seem to have positive meanings so I am hoping that I will be able to relate some of the dreams I have had to upcoming and future life events.

I made my main dream journal that I keep by my bedside with a cereal box. I folder and cut lined paper to fit the size, stapled the paper together and used hot glue to attach the paper to the cover. I used an old brown paper shopping bag to wrap the cover, and I took some scrap fabric and a hole puncher to wrap it closed, and to add a personal touch. I had some left over paper scraps, so I made a few mini notebooks that I will definitely put into use.

I have had continuous dreams over the past week that have been so vivid, so I am super happy to have made my dream journal to write it all down.

I got an awesome camera lens set for Christmas and I decided to get back into playing around with filming. This is a quick compilation I put together quickly, and I am excited to try out some new video projects!
